Como são as vidas dos indivíduos em transição de Mulher para Homem (MpH)? Qual o seu trilho de construção narrativa ao nível da identidade? Em que medida a transsexualidade MpH segue os passos, ou afasta-se, da bem melhor documentada e explorada transição de Homem para Mulher? Em que medida este fenómeno desafia as construções narrativas sociais e científicas obrigando-as a uma auto-reflexão? Quais as bases sociais e subjectivas de um sujeito MpH? Este documentário recolhe uma série de testemunhos de sujeitos que estão no processo de transição MpH, outros que já completaram todo o processo clínico, e sujeitos interssexuais. Pretende-se uma reflexão sobre as construções narrativas dos sujeitos entrevistados.

How are the lives of FtM subjects in transition? Which are their paths of narrative construction at identity level? In which measure does FtM transsexualism follow the spur or takes the distance from better known and investigated backgrounds of the male toward female transsexualism? How does the phenomena challenge the social and scientific speech constructions and oblige them to a reflection on themselves? Which is the social and subjective background of an FtM subject? The documentary TransAzioni is a collection of witnesses of subjects who are going through a path of FtM transition, subjects who have already made the medical-legal procedure and intersexual subjects. It aims to be a reflexion about the speech constructions of the interviewed subjects.

O projecto de The Legacy of Cain nasceu há dois anos. O ponto de partida foi a novela Vénus in Fur de Leopold von Sacher-Masoch, que havia sido discutida durante um processo de trabalho anterior. As ideias iniciais foram-se alterando durante o projecto. Já não nos interessava seguir um guião ou storyboard, mas antes passávamos horas a discutir a evolução de cada cena e depois filmávamos cada take instintivamente de uma forma diferente do anterior. O filme narra a relação entre a personagem principal, Leopold von Sacher-Masoch, e quatro mulheres: Wanda von Dunajev (a Venus in Fur), Anna Klauer (uma prostituta solteira), a Criada (quase uma figura materna), e a Condessa Aunt Xenobia (o primeiro impulso sexual). Haidée - ambos o delirante alter-ego da personagem principal e instigador da acção - acompanha o seu senhor até ao momento em que despertam a verdade mais profunda de cada uma das personagens. O sonho de Haidée revela as verdades, mentiras, memórias, projecções, medos e sofrimentos de cada uma delas, num contexto sempre mais emocional que narrativo. - Os realizadores

The Legacy of Cain is a project that was born two years ago. The starting point was the novel Venus in Fur by Leopold von Sacher-Masoch which had been discussed during the editing of a previous piece of work. The initial ideas were transformed during the five week project. It no longer meant following a film script or a storyboard but we simply spent hours discussing the evolution of each scene and then filmed each take in a different way to the previous one in an instinctive manner. The film narrates the relationship between the leading character, Leopold von Sacher-Masoch, and four women: Wanda von Dunajev (the Venus in Fur), Anna Klauer (a single prostitute), the Maid (almost a mother figure), and the Countess Aunt Xenobia (the first sexual impulse). Haidée - both the leading character's delirious alter ego and instigator of events - accompanies his host until he awakens the deepest truth of each one of the characters. Haidée's dream reveals the characters' truths, lies, memories, projections, fears and sufferings in a context which is more emotional than narrative. - The directors
